Whether fuchsia or baby pink, the Barbie aesthetic was a clear fashion trend that gained momentum in 2022 … and looks to continue in 2023. Better known as “Barbiecore”, it was designer Valentino’s autumn/winter 2022-2023 collection that solidified the trend with fashionistas and Hollywood A-listers quickly donning the signature colour.
Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli stripped down his fashion palette to a single hue, saying in a statement that he considers pink to be a “manifestation of the unconscious and liberation from the need for realism”.
As the bold hue is expected to dominate the red carpet this year with the release of the Barbie film in July, Deborah Hung has been front and centre of the pink squad. The Bling Empire: New York star, who is married to Hong Kong millionaire Stephen Hung, has always unashamedly been a fan of pink. Her wardrobe only consists of designer pink outfits with pieces from Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior and Fendi, per Asian media.
Not only does she only wear designer, Hung shares a close relationship with well-known designers too. In an interview, she said she loves haute couture at fashion weeks as the pieces showcased “are extraordinary”.

The beauty also said she is close with Donatella Versace, and is known to hang out with the designer backstage ahead of runway shows. At one Dolce & Gabbana event, Hung even said the store was opened just for her as she had been travelling and didn’t have a dress to wear.

Hung was at a private dinner at Haiku Miami with her husband and fellow Bling Empire star Kane Lim in February 2022, wearing a dress by Paris-based design house Faith Connexion.
